Artist Quote: The study of water and waves is a wonderful experience. Seeing the interdependence and interaction of the water as it becomes part of the natural motion of tides is truly fascinating. Here we are confronted by a woman with a child in the foreground and we can’t help but be engaged in their interdependence. Also we can’t help but ponder their personal confrontation with the ocean and these rolling  waves. The painting is filled with natural highlighted areas of color as well as the shadows and color changes that are in view. This is a wonderful play on light, depth, interaction and life at the ocean’s edge.
